Some of us say we believe because we have reason to – and proof. Until we don’t. Then it’s easier to hold onto the edge of logic that says the situation probably won’t change. Because it hasn’t. So, it must be too hard for God, it must not be His will, it must be or not be . . whatever.
Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible isn’t just a few words strung together by Corrie Ten Boom to make an inspiring quote. It was her testimony in life. Her very hard life.
When we recognize the insurmountable circumstances that we could never have come through except for the power and intervention of a sovereign God, it’s worth sharing. And this dear lady (and so many others) have shared amazing testimonies that have helped build my faith through the years. This is why it’s important for us to do the same.
So when I’m facing the seemingly impossibles in life, I remember. Theirs and my own.
You may have difficulty walking into 2022 with the hope that an on-going situation will change. You’re not alone, many feel the same. But we’re also not alone because there is One that remains faithful.
Maybe you too have prayed a certain something for months, years, decades and it still looks like when you started. It’s then we get stuck in the desperate place and bark at the dark instead of believing there’s something on the other side of the door. Plus we’re exhausted by recycled pandemics and gun-demics, we know of too many facing a new year while dragging in the old of greater loss.
And we cry out to be heard ~ may the beg of our heart see our impossibles as not too difficult or absurd for the High God of Heaven but to have a bold belief to receive His goodness in our lives, however that appears in the unknown days ahead. Our prayer is not to manipulate a sovereign God for His will to align with ours but to agree with Him that He is who He says He is.
Our hope comes by faith to commit everything in childlike-simplicity to a loving Father for His anointing and provision according to His timing and way. May our hope not be diminished by leaning on man who is limited but on God who can reverse the irreversible. And I’ve experienced a hundred-ish times in my life when immovable circumstances – moved.
So I love Corrie’s words that faith sees, believes and receives. And I love God’s Word, You do not have because you do not ask – you ask and do not receive because you ask with wrong motives. James 4:2
“With man this is impossible but with God all things are possible.” Jesus
Praying with you and for you as we believe together . . .

This too Verna,
We will continue to believe the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
