Soul Chatting

July 24, 2013 By Verna Bowman 14 Comments

Too many times we’re guilty of negative self-talk. Would you believe we can make a difference in our emotional, spiritual, and physical well being by talking to ourselves? The journal of David reminds us how he strengthened himself in the words of the Lord.  When his soul was downcast, he chatted with his inner breath and … [Read more...]

Road to Emmaus

July 16, 2013 By Verna Bowman 9 Comments

. . . their eyes were opened and they recognized Him.  Luke 24:31 How many times have you taken a familiar route only to wind up lost?  Lost in distraction. It can be the same within our life circumstances.  We may have the hope of spring, but … [Read more...]

Where is Hope?

November 14, 2012 By Verna Bowman 12 Comments

The cascading effects left from Sandy’s wrath remind us of things beyond our control that touch our lives.  Unexpectedly. Media pummels our peace with images and bad news, and on top of it all rests our own circumstances.   It’s easy to feel hopeless at times, isn’t it? The Bible is filled with heroes who wanted to quit in the … [Read more...]

His Word – My Hope

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses.  You are saved by grace.  Ephesians 2:4-5
