When the world around us looks bleak and featureless, it’s easy to fall through winter cracks and descend into the winter blues. We can’t help but feel as gray as the day when dark creeps in too early and steals the light.
So, whether you’re feeling a little blue or a little gray, keep in mind winter always comes to an end and spring is the sequel. It always comes!
An awesome truth about nature is that God has given it the ability to recreate itself. I count on this when I look beneath the cold heart of earth and believe there’s life just waiting to come forth.
At times we may feel as weighed down as bare brittle branches unless we learn how to see the blossoms and fruit before they appear.
Believe to see, every dawn, every season –– no matter life’s season.
If you’re feeling a little snow bound or just plain bound because hope is hibernating in your circumstances, believe to see what’s coming forth.
God is master at bringing things back to life that have expired. Ezekiel 37 paints a picture of the re-Creator restoring hope in hopeless situations. The prophet is looking into a valley of rattling dry-bones with a February-eye. But, the God of miraculous touch covers the lifeless places with fresh flesh and sinew and the next thing Ezekiel beholds is an army!
We have been given the power to revive blue and gray thinking and speak life into our dead zones. We can breathe in the fragrant assurance that there is life beneath snowdrifts.
Speak an Ezekiel prayer over the dead of winter and see how it changes color.
This is what Yahweh says –– who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath and life to the people on it . . . Isaiah 42:5

Thank you for your faithful visits, Glenda . . . I think you understand how easy it is to get blind-sided by the winter things in the way when we’re looking for spring . . .
